Beginning today, Virginia Credit Union will go the extra mile to help members combat the high cost of fuel with a rebate on gas purchases.

Purchasers who use a Virginia Credit Union credit card will receive a 5 percent rebate on gasoline. The promotion, which runs July 1 through Aug. 31, applies to gas purchases made at the pump.

The rebate applies to credit card purchases at any gas station in the United States and should help with summer travel. The high cost of fuel and the resulting spike in airline fares is causing many Virginians to scale back their vacation plans and stay closer to home.

The offer represents a thank you for members of Virginia Credit Union. Credit Union members who do not have a credit card may apply for one by phone, online or in person.

Virginia Credit Union is a member-owned, not-for-profit financial cooperative that serves more than 180,000 members.
