Welcome to VCU Monroe Park Campus
Virginia Commonwealth University's Monroe Park Campus is the academic heart of Richmond, tucked in the middle of the city's charming Fan District. Claiming brand new programs within the health sciences and public affairs, VCU Monroe Park also challenges its students with 162 bachelor's, master's, doctoral, professional and certificate degree programs, allowing students to create their own unique career paths.

VCU Monroe Park Campus History
- VCU is the third largest research university in Virginia and has more than 29,000 students.
- Campus is located in a residential area known as the Fan District, appreciated for its early-20th century homes, comfy cafés and a quaint, picturesque environment in the middle of urban Richmond.
- The school first started in 1917 as the Richmond School of Social Work and Public Health and later became the Richmond Professional Institute.
- In 1968, RPI merged with the Medical College of Virginia to create Virginia Commonwealth University.
- VCU's L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs boasts the new Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness undergraduate program, the first of its kind in the nation.
