The City of Richmond Youth and Workforce Development Division is currently accepting Youth Eligibility Pre-Screening Applications for the 2008 City of Richmond Youth Academy Summer Session until May 31.

The Youth Academy Summer Session will offer participants, ages 14 to 17, workforce opportunities and placement from Monday, June 30, 2008 to Friday, August 8, 2008.

Youth will be required to complete up to 25 hours of workforce skill development and training activities each week.  Each youth will be assigned a placement site and must complete all components of the session during the designated time frame. Participants will be provided a modest financial stipend, and transportation assistance will be made available if needed.

Visit the City of Richmond Human Resources Department website, to apply for the session or contact 646-7491 for more information. Selected youth will be contacted directly to complete the official eligibility screening in May/June 2008.

The preceding was compiled from a City of Richmond news release.
