Not really familiar with this guy, but they say he's from New Jersey, can you believe that? Apparently he plays "The Rock and Roll" music, which comes from some place called Asbury Park. At this point, the only tickets you are going to find are from scalpers outside the venue. Showtime is 6:30 p.m. The Coliseum is located at 601 E. Leigh St.

w It's almost fall, even if it doesn't feel like it, and Jahiem, Tank and Dwele will kick-off an End of Summer Love Show. The gig starts at 8 p.m. at the Landmark Theater. Tickets cost $37.50. The Landmark is located at 6 N. Laurel St.
w The 4th Friday Art Show opens at Art Works tonight. The event features the "Dog Days of Summer and Stray Cats," a Richmond SPCA & Art Works Partnership; 2008 members and resident artists show; "Have You Seen My Dots Lately?" by Vinnie Gonzalez; "Seizing The Moment" by Irwin Shisko; and "Tints, Tones and Overtones," by Geraldine Keifer. The artists' reception will be from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. downstairs and Gold Dust upstairs. A dance presentation will be performed by To The Earth-Tribal/Fusian Dance at 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. The exhibits will continue through Sept. 21.
Saturday, Aug. 23
w The region's largest street rod, custom and muscle car automotive event comes to the Richmond Raceway Complex this weekend. Starting Friday, there will be more than 1,400 cars from 1978 and prior years, including street rods, customs, muscle cars and antiques and restored vehicles from all over the country. Nearly 75 manufacturers and dealers of specialty automotive equipment will be on display and for sale during the three day event. Tickets are $14 for adults, $12 for seniors and those with proper military ID's and $5 for kids ages 6-12. The raceway is located at 600 E. Laburnum Ave. The show is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday and until 2 p.m. Sunday.
w It's Fair time in Chesterfield County! Held at the corner of Courthouse and Krause roads, the weeklong fair includes scrumptious food, crafts, rides, games and fun for the whole family. The fair is open from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Friday; from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturdays and from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Sundays. w World Market Day II unfolds at the 17th Street Farmers Market. From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the market will bubble with a cultural infusion of foods and wares from across the globe.

w The Richmond Farmers Market Advancement Association will team up with Offering to bring Arts In The Alley to Shockoe Bottom this weekend to reclaim the heavily-used alleys from graffiti and neglect. On Saturday, artists and volunteers will clean up Walnut Alley and the adjacent alley north to Franklin Street. This will include removal of all trash and debris, weeds, old posters and graffiti. On Sunday, local artists will renovate the alleys, which includes retouching the murals on the walls of Alex's Thai Cuisine, Franklin Street Market and Alley Katz, along with creation of several new murals. Bands will also be performing at several venues through the alleys and 17th Street Farmers Market. The public is encouraged to take part, and children are welcome. Children will be able to paint their own flower on a mural!
