Toots & The Maytals at Toad's Place
Jamaica's Frederick "Toots" Hibbert is the group's long lasting leader since its formation in 1962. Since then, the group of vocal harmonizers have toured the world and taken a 10-year break. Upon their return, they won a Grammy in 2005 for best reggae album and done their own version of a Radiohead's Let Down for Radiodread, the Easy Star All-Stars tribute to the Ok Computer album. The Maytals will also be performing with Antero. $20 general admission. All ages show. 7 p.m.

The Greyboy Allstars at Toad's Place
DJ Greyboy and wind-expert Karl Denson co-founded this San Diego-based group that's now known for their fun fusion of funk and jazz. Fully loaded with Robert Walters and Chris Stillwell on keyboards and bass, they played a huge role in the late 90's acid jazz movement. Despite having a replacement drummer for the previous album, What Happened to Television? Zak Najor will be playing with them this Tuesday. Also sitting in is Dispatch's phenomenal guitarist Pete Francis. $18 in advance or $20 at the door. All ages show. 8 p.m.
Pat Benatar at The National
"You're a heart breaker, dream maker, love taker don't you mess around with me!" Yeah, you know you have sung along to the four-time Grammy Award winner's top hit, probably while driving alone in the car. No shame. Now, come and enjoy belting it in public with the rest of us. Pat will also be performing with her hunky guitarist Neil Giraldo. $35 general admission. All ages show. 8 p.m.

The New Pornographers with Okkervil River at Toad's Place
Juno Award-winning Vancouver-based group is a power pop influenced indie rock band that is touring for their fourth album, Challengers. $22.50 in advance or $25 at the door. All ages show. 7:30 p.m.
Iron & Wine at The National
Sam Beam is a well-known folk rock singer and songwriter from South Carolina. After leaving his teaching career as a film and cinematography professor at Miami International University to become a full time musician, he is now touring for his third full length album, The Shepherd's Dog, which features other artists such as Joey Burns, Paul Niehaus of Calexico and jazz artists Matt Lux and Rob Burger. Iron & Wine will also be performing with Califone. $23 general admission. All ages show. 8 p.m.

Sevendust and Saliva at The National
ATL's relentless metal band Sevendust will just not stop putting out records. They are now touring in support of their seventh album, Chapter VII: Hope and Sorrow, which was released April 1. The newest album has appearances by American Idol's Chris Daughtry and Alterbridge's Mark Tremonti and Myles Kennedy. They still will have plenty of juice left in them despite just finishing the Australia tour in March with Ozzy Osbourne. Post-grunge band Saliva will be opening the show. $23.50 general admission. All ages show. 7 p.m.

Dick Butt Kiss & The Tight Ends at Alley Katz
This "good ol' fashioned dirt road foursome" claims to be from Nastacootchie County in an unknown state and was formed by Uncle Daddy, so apparently it must be somewhere in West Virginia. The music is hilariously perverted bluegrass and other odd music. With The Falseys and Special Ed & The Short Bus. $5 general admission. 18 and older. 10 p.m.

The 25th Annual 2008 102.1 the "X" Chili Cook Off at the Richmond Raceway Complex
Puddle of Mudd, Theory of a Deadman, 10years, Sick Puppies and Safetysuit will be performing while you judge who has this year's best chili and booth. $20 in advance at Plan 9 Music, BK Music, The X Studios, or $25 at the gate. All ages. The show starts at 11 a.m. Rain or shine.

The Temptations at The National
Motown's world-renowned African American male song and dance group is coming to Richmond. The quintet of R&B, doo-wop, funk, disco, soul and adult contemporary crooners has been around for more than five decades. Everyone should see "The Temps" at least once. The show benefits the Historic Richmond Foundation so a portion of the ticket price is tax deductible. $95 general admission. All ages show. 8:30 p.m.

Seven multi-talented musicians -- and just about every one of them singers -- form this Ska group from New Jersey. These guys are known for putting on a performance that you will not blink for.
