RICHMOND.COM DELIVERS FOR LEGENDARY SANTA

Richmond, VA - Legendary Santa and his helpers delivered a very Merry Christmas to area families and citycelebrations alike this past holiday season with a phenomenally successful holiday event. Approximately ten thousand families annually visit Legendary Santa which this past season was held at the Greater Richmond Convention Center from the day after Thanksgiving, Friday, November 28 through Christmas Eve, Wednesday, December 24, 2003.

As in years past, one of the highlights of Santaland's celebration was the annual breakfast and lunch with Legendary Santa and his special guest Snow Queen and the Singing Elf. By purchasing admission tickets, children and their parents got the chance to spend some quality time with the Jolly Old Elf and his friends from the North Pole. However, this year's event offered a new twist. Meal attendees were able to purchase tickets online through Richmond.com prior to the event.

"Legendary Santa is a great Richmond tradition and one that citycelebrations takes pride in producing every year," said citycelebrations - Marketing Manager Robert Fleskes. "When we began exploring the right avenue for an online ticket offering, Richmond.com was the obvious choice. As the most recognizable web address in the city, Richmond.com's ability to understand the regional marketplace, their local ownership and their downtown headquarters perfectly complemented our system."

And how successful was the on-line partnership?

"We sold out of all of the tickets that we had allotted for our online program," commented Fleskes. "It was a positive way to end the year and we look forward to continuing our relationship with Richmond.com both through ticketing and advertising."

The upcoming 2004 season for citycelebrations looks to be spectacular as well with the return of established events such as Friday Cheers, Easter on Parade and 2nd Street Festival.
