SHOP.RICHMOND.COM TO CONTINUE

Richmond, VA - Retail Merchants Association and Richmond.com renew agreement for Richmond’s most comprehensive online retail directory.

William H. Baxter, President and CEO of Retail Merchants Association announced that his organization, which represents the retail business community, will continue its relationship with Richmond’s premiere online portal, Richmond.com.

The Retail Merchants Association created ShopVA.com in 1997 to bridge the gap between their members and Richmond area consumers. In 2003, the management within the Association recognized a potential short cut to a larger audience, namely by establishing a marketing arrangement with Richmond.com which currently holds the largest market share of online advertisers and users in the Richmond area. Richmond.com has an established user base in excess of 270,000 unique visitors per month viewing over 4 million pages of content. Thus, www.ShopVA.com became Shop.Richmond.com.

"Combining our resources with the capabilities and expansive user base of Richmond.com was a straight-forward decision," commented Baxter. "Since its inception the channel has continued to grow in numbers of page views and expanded to include great opportunities for our members. Continuing this relationship is the best opportunity to keep the RMA and its members in front of our key consumer base."

During the course of the partnership, the Shopping Channel on Richmond.com has seen significant expansions in breadth of content and key functionality. Currently, users of the Channel can read articles about the latest trends and happenings in the world of retail in Richmond as well as search for businesses, view information on featured stores and even browse and purchase products online.

In addition, Shop.Richmond.com incorporates all RMA members with a basic or enhanced listing.
