DINWIDDIE COUNTY CITIZEN ADVISORY REDISTRICTING COMMITTEE NOTICE OF PUBLIC COMMENT SESSION PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Dinwiddie County Redistricting Advisory Citizen Committee, on Monday, November 29, 2021 from 6:00 to 7:00 PM plans to meet in the Government Building Boardroom, 14010 Boydton Plank Rd, Dinwiddie, Virginia, to receive public comment on two separate redistricting scenarios. Scenario one would shift the area bounded on the north by US Route 460, on the west by Tranquility Lane, on the south by White Oak Road, and on the east by Claiborne Road from District Two to District One. Scenario two would shift the area bounded on the north and east by Lake Chesdin, on the south and west by Sutherland Road, and on the south by Miry Run, the high voltage power line east of Oxford Drive, and Oxford Drive from District Two to District One. Only one of those scenarios would be chosen, and citizens may propose other scenarios. The Committee also seeks public comment on proposals (1) to move the polling place for Precinct 401 Dinwiddie from the Dinwiddie County Middle School to the Dinwiddie County High School and the polling place for Precinct 402 McKenney from Sunnyside Elementary School to the Ragsdale Community Center and (2) to move the area generally bounded on the east by Boydton Plank Road, on the south by Interstate 85 and Sterling Road, and to the north and west by Cattail Run from Precinct 502 Chesdin to Precinct 501 Edgehill. Any persons having an interest in the above matter are encouraged to attend the meeting at the specific time and location to express their views. A copy of further particulars related to this matter is on file and may be examined in the County Attorney's Office located at the Dinwiddie County Government Center, 14010 Boydton Plank Road, Dinwiddie, Virginia 23841 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, except legally declared holidays.
