NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ASHLAND TOWN COUNCIL Please take notice that on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at 7:00PM, the Ashland Town Council will conduct a public hearing at Ashland Town Hall, 121 Thompson Street, Ashland, Virginia on a proposed ordinance revision (ORD2021-10) related to: ORDINANCE NO. 2021-10 ORDINANCE NO. 2021-10 AMENDS THE ASHLAND TOWN CODE, CHAPTER 10, "MOTOR VEHICLES & TRAFFIC," ARTICLE I, "IN GENERAL," SEC. 10-7, "SPECIAL SPEED LIMITS ON CERTAIN STREETS AND IN CERTAIN AREAS" TO LOWER THE SPEED LIMIT FROM 25 TO 15 MILES PER HOUR (MPH) NORTHBOUND ON RAILROAD AVENUE FROM ENGLAND STREET TO COLLEGE AVENUE; MAKE THE SPEED LIMIT 35 MPH ON STATE ROUTE 54 FROM THE WESTERN TOWN CORPORATE LIMIT TO 400 FEET SOUTHEAST OF THE INTERSECTION WITH HENRY CLAY ROAD; AND LOWER THE SPEED LIMIT FROM 35 TO 25 MPH ON MAPLE STREET FROM ASHCAKE ROAD TO 850 FEET PAST WALDER ROAD. ORDINANCE NO. 2021-10 IS CONSIDERED PURSUANT TO THE GRANT OF AUTHORITY CONTAINED IN VA. CODE § 46.2-1300(A)(1).
