The Mill House, a Clubhouse program of Community Brain Injury Services (CBIS), provides transportation to our members to/from CBIS programs and community locations throughout the Metro Richmond area to include Henrico, Richmond, Chesterfield, Hanover, Powhatan, Goochland, Amelia, Colonial Heights, Petersburg, New Kent, Hopewell, and Charles City. The Mill House serves individuals who have been permanently disabled as a result of a brain injury. The Mill House provides transportation to our Clubhouse members to access the community for participation in group and individual volunteer opportunities, employment services, social and recreational activities, and other community interaction opportunities. CBIS is requesting funds from the Commonwealth of Virginia to purchase a new wheelchair accessible 14 passenger bus through the FTA Section 5310 program to continue offering community-based services through this transportation service. The vehicle will be used regularly between the hours of 9am and 5pm Monday-Friday and other times as needed. CBIS invites interested public and private transit and paratransit operators and programs offering similar transportation services in the Metro Richmond area to comment on the proposed vehicle replacement by sending written notice by February 1, 2021 to: Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation- Public Transportation Division, 600 Main Street, Suite 2102, Richmond, VA 23219 and Community Brain Injury Services, 681 Hioaks Rd., Suite G, Richmond, VA 23225 (Attn: Claire Yarbrough).
