Berkshire Hathaway Home Services PenFed Realty in Richmond announced Thursday that it will join forces with Century 21 Signature Realty of Virginia.

Century 21 principals Carol Haley and Becky Accashian, their sales team of 10 agents and three employees in property management will become part of the BHHS PenFed team.

“Carol and Becky are two of the top-notch brokers in the city,” said Earl Jackson, regional vice president for Richmond operations of BHHS PenFed Realty. “They are very active in the home-building market.”

The closing will be in early January. The purchase price was not disclosed.

Signature Realty generates more that $25 million in annual sales. With the addition of this sales team, the local BHHS PenFed Realty affiliate will have 55 sales agents.

Signature Realty brings a portfolio of homes under management that will more than double the local affiliate’s property management division. Signature Realty manages 275 single-family rental homes in the Richmond area. BHHS PenFed Realty manages 150 rental homes here.

The Signature Realty staff will move from offices off Buford Road into the BHHS PenFed Realty office at 2737 McRae Road in Bon Air.

BHHS PenFed Realty, the former Prudential Slater James River Realtors, also has an office at 910 N. Parham Road in Henrico County.

Its affiliation with BHHS Pen Fed Realty, based in Severna Park, Md., has brought training and marketing opportunities to the regional office, which offers in-house mortgage financing, relocation and title services. “It was a very good move,” Jackson said.

This addition will bring even more opportunities to the staff and clients, Jackson said.

PenFed Realty network is part of the Berkshire Hathaway Inc. holding company. Another subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway owns the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

A year ago, Jackson announced that Prudential Slater would become part of PenFed Realty. That transaction closed in February.

This transaction with Signature Realty is another step toward growing the company and expanding its services, Jackson said.
