Our stock page has added value.
The Richmond Times-Dispatch has updated our Money & Markets stock page to improve its look and to give you more listings and other features.
The changes include adding 22 stocks to our widely held stock list. We now list the stocks of 252 companies on Standard & Poor’s 500 index based on market capitalization. The list excludes foreign stocks and excludes companies on the S&P 500 or Dow Jones indexes if those shares are found on one of the newspaper’s other stock lists.
We’re strengthening our coverage of Virginia-based companies by adding eight stocks to our list of selected Virginia companies including Liberty Tax Inc. and Bassett Furniture. We also added a couple of stocks to the companies of local interest list such as Henrico County-based Synalloy Corp.
Features on the page have moved a bit. For instance, the mutual fund listings are now at the third column (they had been in the middle column) and the commodities listings moved to that middle column.
Speaking of the commodities listings, we’ve added fever charts to each to give you a better idea of how that commodity, such as oil or corn, has performed over the past year. And the graphic showing a snapshot of the daily market performance has moved from the top of the Business page to the top of the stock page.
The data are compiled by Bloomberg News.
We’re excited about our improvements. We hope you are.
