Speaker Charles Koutnik will address the establishment of photography as a legitimate art form in America. He will discuss the various movements, people and images that made photography the perfect art for a young forward-thinking country. Koutnik has been a photographer since 1978.  He has won several awards and has displayed his work in solo and group shows. His main love is teaching, and a favorite subject is the history of photography. He believes that photography is an important American Art in that its beginnings and development parallel those of America. Reservations are not necessary for this free lecture, but seating may be limited.   Presented by the Chesterfield Historical Society of Virginia and Chesterfield Department of Parks and Recreation
