2019 Richmond Christmas Mother April Niamtu
The Times-Dispatch is pleased to announce that April Niamtu will serve as the 2019 Richmond Christmas Mother supporting the Richmond Christmas Mother Fund, the nonprofit organization run by the Richmond Times-Dispatch. Niamtu served on the board of the Virginia Board for People with Disabilities, a position she was appointed to by Gov. Bob McDonnell. Before that, she had served on the board of Safe Harbor, a nonprofit that supports those who have experienced domestic violence, sexual violence or human trafficking. Niamtu grew up in Virginia Beach and has lived in Richmond since 1993. She is married to Dr. Joseph Niamtu III, a cosmetic facial surgeon, and they have two sons, Joey and Evan. She has a third son, Steve, from a previous marriage.

The Niamtu Family has supported the Chesterfield-Colonial Heights Christmas Mother program for years.. April Niamtu and her husband, Joe, are very philanthropic. Do glad to see her honored.
