Film director and Virginia Commonwealth University basketball fan Spike Lee was spotted sharing a meal with coach Shaka Smart on Wednesday at Edo's Squid near the VCU campus.
Lee, whose directorial credits include "Do the Right Thing" and "Malcolm X," has a long association with VCU. He was named to the board of the school's BrandCenter, then known as the AdCenter, in 1998.
Lee also is one the best-known supporters of VCU's basketball team. He has been seen sporting the school's colors in the stands during the last two Atlantic 10 tournaments at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.
