Croaker’s Spot — the Richmond area seafood restaurant — is in expansion mode and soon folks will be able to check out the restaurant well beyond its home base.
The restaurant group — which operates the Croaker’s Spot at 1020 Hull St. in Manchester, one at 39 River St. in Petersburg and Sugar’s Crab Shack at 2224 Chamberlayne Ave. — is planning three more locations for the Croaker’s Spot, full-service restaurant brand.
The most exciting location new location is right here in Richmond. Croaker’s Spot is planning to reopen in its original location on Second and Leigh streets in Jackson Ward.
That location closed in 2010 after nine years in business.
Locations in Norfolk and Fredericksburg are also in the works. Those two should open this summer. Sadly for downtown Richmonders, the Jackson Ward location will be the last of the three to open, according to general manager Ralph Fields.
“We want to take over the world,” Fields joked. “We thought it was time to let everyone have a taste of Croaker’s Spot.”
