Good Deal Senate, Please do not pay any attention to Joe Morrissey!!
It's a "sad-state-of-affairs" that BOTH Dems & Repubs put up with Sen. Joe Morrissey, D-Richmond & his toxic waste !
Isn't she the Judge who's racist against black people?
No, only an allegation from the sex offender Joe Morrissey! This guy is a nutcase why do voters keep supporting him?
Victoria Cochran, you took the words right out of my mouth !
Why did the headline have to bring her race into a non racial issue.....the reappointment of a sitting judge! Feeding the racist culture we find ourselves in I suppose!
Not only that plain and simple no, ifs, ands or buts "it is offensive". The color of any judges skin has absolutely no bearing whatsoever on their ability and performance while on the bench. It is high time this "rubbish" stopped. Equal justice for all regardless of anyone's skin color and that includes any and all applicable sentencing / punishments.
Certainly nothing new. It seems state and federal legislators spend half their time creating race based law and programs. Our Governor insists on giving special attention to just one race, as if equal treatment by law is not good enough.
Everything from the Democrats this session involves race especially when it involves helping the criminal thugs avoid prosecution or skip responsibility for their crimes!
I'm going to keep politics out of it and simply say based on my experience appearing before her as an attorney and having invited her to speak at a legal seminar, I believe Judge O'Berry is an excellent judge, a high character individual and a very fine person. Suggesting she is backed by right wing republicans is simply not accurate - to the extent people make comments like that care about being accurate. The Senate Judiciary Committee has - I believe - 6 Republicans and 9 democrats. The vote to certify her was 9-3 with some members not voted. Thus, she had support from democrats. Additionally, the state NAACP, the Legislative Black Caucus, three other members of the chesterfield delegation (including democrats), members of the Chesterfield Board of Supervisors all support her re-appointment.
Yes, and if she's a tough judge, she's what we need. Let's get it done and move on.
Gwenn , Agree with you 100% !
You see, BayGuy, all things are possible. :-)
No ifs, ands or buts Berry has been and is an excellent judge. Under no conditions does she need to be removed. If fact Chesterfield and other jurisdictions due in fact need more judges of the caliper of Berry. Regardless of what anyone says or tries to convey skin color / nationality Berry does not allow it to enter into or play into any of her decisions. You go Judge Berry. Keep up the excellent work! Justice for ALL
She is a biased and rude jurist who should have been removed. I was relieved to see she would no longer be able to determine cases without even listening to the facts but I guess she will continue to hand out bad decisions.
In your opinion.
If Judge O'berry is strongly backed by right wing Republicans, then that's not a good thing.
Art , Is it possible that the Right Wing Republicans are correct ?
Why isn't it? That comment doesn't make any sense.
Good.
9 times out of 10 I'm gonna take the opposite side of any argument Joe Morrissey makes.
