Why I want to serve: My family and I came to this country as refugees from a war with nothing but the clothes on our back, love for family, faith and access to a public school education. It was this education which was my vehicle out of a life of poverty. That education opened doors and provided opportunities.
I want to serve on the School Board because I want to be a part of the process of ensuring a quality education not only for my children, but all children. I believe I can contribute a unique perspective on the value of an education and to help continue opening doors for so many other children from similar backgrounds as mine.
