Traffic is moving again on Interstate 295 north in Hanover County after being shut down for more than four hours Sunday when a tractor-trailer hauling 60,000 pounds of oranges caught fire near the Creighton Road exit.
The fire started in the tractor and spread to the trailer. The cause of the blaze reported about 7:10 p.m. remains unknown, according to Virginia State Police.
The trailer and fuel tanks had to be unloaded, authorities said.
All lanes were reopened by 11:58 p.m. Sunday.
