HENRICO -- A 30-year-old Glen Allen man driving a compact car was killed in a wreck with a tractor-trailer that closed the northbound lanes of Interstate 95 in Henrico County early today, according to Virginia State Police.

The crash was reported at 2:22 a.m. at mile marker 80.5, just north of the Exit 80 interchange for Lakeside Avenue and Hermitage Road, said Sgt. Thomas J. Molnar, a state police spokesman.

The driver of the Subaru, Steve A. Rosales-Mejia of the 900 block of Masters Row died at the scene, Molnar said.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.

The crash remained under investigation, but Molnar said speed appeared to have been a factor when the Subaru lost control and struck the tractor-trailer.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts, Molnar said.

Northbound I-95 traffic was detoured off the interstate at Exit 80 and back on at the Brook Road/U.S. 1 interchange until state police began reopening lanes about 4 a.m.; all lanes were reopened by about 5 a.m.
