Rep. Paul Ryan, the 2012 Republican vice presidential nominee, will headline the GOP's fundraising dinner June 6 in Roanoke on the first night of the state Republican Convention.
At the convention that weekend Republicans will choose their nominee to take on Sen. Mark R. Warner, D-Va.
Ryan, a potential 2016 presidential hopeful, endorsed Ed Gillespie for the Senate nomination Feb. 25, when he was the featured speaker at House Majority Leader Eric Cantor's annual fundraiser at the Greater Richmond Convention Center.
Ryan, chairman of the House Budget Committee, was a familiar face in Virginia during the 2012 presidential campaign -- from his August unveiling in Norfolk as Mitt Romney's running mate to his Election Day stop at a Henrico campaign office.
The dinner, called the Commonwealth Gala, includes various levels of sponsorship. For $2,500 a a "gala dinner host" will receive four tickets to a VIP reception, have a picture taken with Ryan and receive a reserved table at the dinner with 10 guests.
For $1,250 a "gala dinner co-host" gets two tickets to the VIP reception, a photo and a reserved table at the dinner with 10 tickets.
An individual ticket to the dinner is $75.
