The Richmond Times-Dispatch has won its second grand sweepstakes award recognizing overall excellence in news and advertising.
The Times-Dispatch won its first grand sweepstakes last year. This year, the newspaper earned a combined 47 awards in the 2018 Virginia Press Association journalism and advertising contest, including a best in show for daily advertising.
The awards were announced Saturday night at the VPA’s annual banquet in Norfolk at the Hilton Norfolk The Main hotel. The 2018 contest was judged by the Iowa Press Association.
The news and editorial staffs earned 12 first-place awards, while the advertising department earned four first-place honors.
