These gun nuts are a joke. They are so immature it is pathetic. They look like children who have not grown up and want to play "cops and robbers" or "war." I outgrew that when I was 12 years old.

About as powerfully supported and mature as all those whiney gun nits crying because the Governor made them enter Capitol square without their steel pacifiers.
The gun nuts wouldn't take the governor's word... wouldn't take the court's ruling... and tried to appeal it even higher. If that's not childish inability to face reality I don't know what is.
It should go smoothly unless there are Antifa-type counter-protestors with weapons like blow torches, bats, blackjack type flashlights, etc as in Charlottesville. They know that any violent results will be blamed totally on the 2A crowd.....and the narrative from the MSM will be that the Antifa (yes, an oxymoron) troublemakers were the peaceful heroes.
My belief that it should go smoothly is because I believe the State Police will do a much, much better job than the Charlottesville Police of separating those coming to deliberately seek confrontation.

Yes, Antifa is an oxymoron. The only likelihood for violence is if counter-protestors come seeking confrontation.
If you want to avoid confrontation, you would schedule your counter-protest on a different day.
For clarification, I am not disputing their right to assemble on the specific day of the pre-planned event of your opponent. But one can be absurdly naive about the motivations of those doing so.

Having said that, it is now all over the National News. Those who may not have known about this now know. Those who won't show up on a profile might just want to stir up trouble. We all know there are people who just want to rumble. The "gates" don't look very sturdy to me from what I can see on the news. I can't imagine a lot of people trying to get into the Capitol Grounds near the same time. Those who have guns will be on the outside and those without will be on the inside. I hope they have a lot of "people" watching over this whole situation because it has been built up to be a big deal. Somebody may want to make this a "very big deal" and how can they all be controlled? I just hope it doesn't get out of control in the first place.

Someone came by today and we both agreed "the gates" didn't seem very sturdy to handle a large group. I then added, what if someone simply threw something over the fencing like a weapon or something along those lines? I have on good authority that at the height of the rally, a hundred black UN helicopters will appear, carrying giant vacuum cleaners that will suck up the guns carried by anyone within two blocks of the Capitol. At that point, a mob of illegal immigrants will stream from behind buildings and attack the panicked crowd with burrito bombs. Atheists in the crowd will then throw off their MAGA T-shirts and caps and prevent priests from giving last rites to the fallen. Adios, beloved USA.

Gov. Northam will "win" no matter what happens tomorrow. If all goes well and there is no violence, he will be praised for taking adequate preventive measures.
Should there be any trouble, he will be praised for demanding yet more controls over the citizenry and encouraged to call for more restrictions on the 2nd Amendment.

Every VCDL event I have ever attended has been incident-free, the organization has been praised by several law enforcement agencies and you'll be hard-pressed to find nicer people anywhere.
As a member of the VCDL, I can tell you that the pro-gun folks certainly are not just old white men. Plenty of younger folks, minorities of many backgrounds, women and even openly gay folks.
You see, the basic right of self-defense applies to all citizens. Freedom works like that.

The constant use of the Charlottesville example fails to mention the Charlottesville city government, mayor and Gov. McAuliffe’s part in handcuffing the police by not letting them keep the extremists from both sides apart! The lesson from that debacle has helped make sure there will likely be no such confrontations on lobby day tomorrow.

The response to Virginia Beach was an assault weapons ban and universal background checks. Gun grabber logic for something done with handguns, purchased over a year apart, with both state and federal background checks. And all the anti gunners go, oh, yeah. They conveniently leave out that the building was a gun free zone, which makes it occupants helpless targets.
Do nothing about real causes. Do nothing about real crime. Much too hard. Attack people who obey the law. That's the liberal ticket.

If people are threatened with use of force to enforce a law that is unjust and infringes on rights, that is most certainly an attack. Almost every one of the proposed gun control laws is exactly that.
I spoke today with a gentleman here from California. He admonished us to NOT let Virginia go the way of the Golden State. They now require a background check just to buy ammunition and some of their police officers have been bragging about being able to disarm their citizens.
If some of the bills being put forth are signed into law later this year, Virginia will have some gun laws that are WORSE than what they have in California. It is no wonder people are freaking out.

Ralph Northam himself DOES want higher taxes. He is not alone in that regard.
As for fiscal responsibility, neither party has a great record on that issue -- or we would not have 22 trillion in debt + another 150 trillion in future unfunded liabilities.
Also, FWIW, cities and states under leftist Democrat hegemony are drowning in red ink. Most Republicans are slightly less evil in that regard, but they would be trying to hike taxes too if they could get away with it.
Substituting borrow & spend for tax & spend won't really make us any better as a country.
