The Richmond Times-Dispatch hosts a number of popular events as part of its commitment to the Central Virginia community. These include:

RTD Taste of Richmond

A foodie’s dream come true. An evening event that features a live cooking show with local celebrity chefs and dozens of samples from the area’s top restaurants. 

RTD One Day U

Go back to college, if only for one day, with the RTD and One Day University as we deliver a day of lifelong learning to our readers.  Participants learn about a range of subjects taught by academic all-stars from around the country.

RTD Spelling Bee

Thousands of kids from third to eighth grades compete to be a finalist in our regional bee, and for a coveted spot at the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C. 

TDIT Tournament

The Times-Dispatch Invitational Tournament showcases 16 of the top high school basketball teams in the Richmond area.  The final tournament is held at the VCU Siegel Center each year.

RTD Person of the Year

A luncheon dedicated to recognizing the business leaders, teachers, artists, coaches, doctors, nonprofit leaders, volunteers and philanthropists who have made a difference in our community.

RTD Sponsorships

In addition, the RTD donates many hours, advertising support, media sponsorships and community goodwill to hundreds of organizations and events in our region, including:

RTD Event Facilities

Use of the Richmond Times-Dispatch’s facilities by outside groups are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Preference goes to groups that already partner with the RTD. Contact (804) 649-6033 for information about our downtown building and (804) 649-6320 about meeting spaces at our Hanover plant. A fee may apply.
