The Department of Energy tells us warm air leaking into your home during the summer and out of your home in the winter can waste a substantial portion of your energy dollars. You can save at least 10% on your energy bill by reducing those air leaks at the doors to your house, and it’s one of the easiest and least expensive projects you can do.

Q: I would like to know more about my old chandelier, including its value. I inherited it from my uncle who lived in an old apartment building in New York City on the Upper East Side. It was built by Schwartz and Gross in the 1920s and later torn down, and this large chandelier hung in his apartment. There are holes where prisms originally were mounted, but they are now missing. It is about 50 inches high. — K.W.
