A Virginia school district that has drawn national attention for its transgender bathroom ban appeared starkly divided at a public forum over the prospect of ending the policy. The Gloucester County School Board held a public forum Tuesday evening to discuss the possible policy change. It would allow high school students to use bathrooms that correspond with their gender identity. The proposal comes just months before a trial is scheduled for the lawsuit filed by former student Gavin Grimm.

A Virginia school board has opted for Justice High School as the new name for a school that has honored Confederate Gen. J.E.B. Stuart since the 1950s. The Fairfax County school board had been soliciting input from families in the school's attendance boundaries in Falls Church, and the community's top choice was to simply remove "J.E.B." and be known simply as "Stuart High." But the board voted 7-4 to go with its own idea, "Justice"
