Argent Credit Union's story began 70 years ago in modest surroundings: a small trailer in the parking lot of the DuPont Spruance plant in Chesterfield, where the credit union first served plant employees. From those early days, Argent Credit Union has grown into a federally chartered financial cooperative serving the Richmond metro area with eight full-service branches and over 35,000 members strong. Through that growth, the credit union has embraced the same principle that shaped its earliest days: people helping people.
“Although we’ve grown significantly from our humble beginnings in 1956, we remain true to our purpose: to better the well-being of our members, staff and local community. For 70 years, with a member-centric approach, we’ve provided personalized banking solutions to help our members reach their financial dreams,” said Jamie Asciolla, President and CEO of Argent Credit Union.

Local, from the ground up
As a member-owned financial cooperative, Argent Credit Union’s local roots shape everything it does. Deposits stay close to home, allowing the credit union to fund loans for first homes, dream homes and milestones in between. Simply put, Argent Credit Union returns profits back in the form of member benefits including higher dividends on savings, lower interest on loans and lower fees.
