We’re highlighting five great tacky light houses in select neighborhoods and counties around town. This time, we’re taking a look at Glen Allen.

Al and Esther Thompson won ABC’s “The Great Christmas Light Fight” a few years ago and continue to draw record crowds every year with their homemade decorations. This will be their last year lighting up.

The Live Grinch is back on the Tacky Light tour after taking the last three years off. The Live Grinch will be outside his house for photos on the following Friday and Saturday nights in December: Dec. 1-2, Dec. 8-9, Dec. 15-16 and Dec. 22-23 from 7-9 p.m., weather permitting.

This brightly lit home in Glen Allen has over 45,000 lights. The front yard is covered in lights, there are stars on the windows, an inflatable Santa and snowman in the yard and much more.

New to the list this year, this Glen Allen home features over 40,000 lights and 13 inflatable decorations. It’s the creation of twin sisters Lauren and Logan Staton at their parents’ home in the Dunncroft neighborhood. “We have watched the Tacky tour buses pass our home for the past few years on their way to and from Wendhurst and Croft Circle and decided this year to apply to be an official tour attraction,” the sisters said. “We are so excited to 'unwrap' our tacky display this year, and we hope to see many more buses coming our way."

9117 Castle Point Drive in Glen Allen has 43,000 lights. Lights encircle the house, the house is a corner house, with the lighting display visible from all three sides.
