What does career growth look like at your organization, and how do employees see a long-term future there?
We offer clear advancement paths, clinical supervision toward licensure, and ongoing training to enhance each therapist’s clinical skillset. Our team members see long-term potential because we consistently promote from within and invest in them personally and professionally.
What steps have you taken to promote employee well-being and prevent burnout?
We prioritize manageable caseloads, flexible scheduling, paid time off, self-care and supportive check-ins/case collaboration meetings.
What’s one initiative that has had the greatest impact on employee morale?
Our team-building activities. We are always finding new ways to connect with each other and make the workplace fun. Throughout the year, we do things like karaoke, bowling, Valentine’s Day goodie bags, positive affirmations and recognition, raffle drawings, birthday lunches, trivia games and more.
With AI and automation reshaping many industries, how are you helping employees feel prepared and assured they will not be replaced by emerging technology?
We emphasize that technology supports, not replaces, the human connection essential in behavioral health. We continue to train on client care, not AI automation.
As organizations refine hybrid and in-office expectations, how are you balancing flexibility with maintaining culture and collaboration?
We offer hybrid options while creating purposeful, in-person opportunities for collaboration, training and team-building. This balance keeps us flexible yet culturally aligned.
How does being based in the Richmond region influence your workplace culture?
Richmond’s diversity and strong community spirit shape our inclusive, mission-driven culture and deepen our commitment to meeting local behavioral health needs.
How do you encourage philanthropy and a connection to the Greater Richmond community among your employees?
We create opportunities for staff to support local partners like NAMI and the Enchanted Book Mobile, and we regularly organize volunteer events and community initiatives that help employees stay connected to and give back to the Greater Richmond area.
