Bark in the Park returns to Fairy Stone State Park on April 4
STUART, Va. - Fairy Stone State Park invites dog lovers and their four-legged friends to enjoy a tail-waggin’ good time at B.A.R.K. in the Park on Saturday, April 4, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This fun and educational event highlights the park’s popular B.A.R.K. Ranger Program, which teaches responsible pet stewardship through the Rules of B.A.R.K.: Bag your waste, Always leash your pet, Respect wildlife and Know where you can go.
Dogs and their owners who complete the short program will be sworn in as B.A.R.K Rangers and will receive a certificate recognizing their commitment to safe and respectful recreation in Virginia State Parks.
Visitors of all ages are encouraged to attend, whether they’re already dog owners or simply enjoy meeting new furry friends. Throughout the day, visitors can participate in guided activities, watch live demonstrations and connect with local animal-focused organizations.
Event schedule
The Franklin County Humane Society will be on-site with dogs available for adoption and will also accept donations throughout the event. Monetary contributions, pet food and new dog toys are all welcome and appreciated.
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, all dogs must remain on a leash, have up-to-date vaccinations and be comfortable around people and other dogs.
