Registration for the 2025-2026 Engage Hanover Citizens Academy (EHCA) is officially open.
This marks the second year where Hanover County residents can get a closer look at how their local government functions within the program. EHCA provides a hands-on learning experience across 12 sessions that include presentations, tours and interactive activities from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
The program is led by County staff and held at locations across Hanover, and gives insight into the day-to-day operations of departments, community services and facilities, while also highlighting the County’s seven magisterial districts.
“The Citizens Academy is a great way for residents to see how we serve the community every day and to connect directly with the people behind those services,” said County Administrator John A. Budesky. “We hope participants walk away with not only a better understanding of County operations, but also a stronger sense of civic connection and pride in Hanover.”
