Major Ricky Dandridge recently attended the Strong Men & Women in Virginia History ceremony, presented by Dominion Energy and the Library of Virginia — an annual event recognizing distinguished Virginians whose contributions have helped shape our Commonwealth, our nation, and their professions. Joining him at the ceremony was Retired Captain Sue Nelson, and together they had the opportunity to reconnect while celebrating this year’s honorees and their lasting impact. The program highlights individuals whose perseverance, leadership, and commitment to education, advocacy, and service continue to inspire generations across Virginia. During the event, Major Dandridge and Captain Nelson also had the privilege of recognizing past honorees, including former Governor Douglas Wilder, pictured here with Dandridge, and musician and cultural ambassador James “Plunky” Branch — both of whom exemplify the legacy of leadership and influence honored through this program.
