HANOVER—Officers have been made aware of a vandalism incident to the Mechanicsville High School football field that included a swastika and other various phrases, words and symbols on the grass.
Police stated that the investigation is still pending and that they are diligently working with Hanover County Public Schools and Mechanicsville High School administration to identify the individual responsible and to hold them accountable for their actions.
Aside from the swastika, the other items painted had indiscernible meaning and nothing else was determined as anti-Semitic in nature.
The Hanover County Sheriff’s Office is requesting any information that could help identify this individual. Anyone who is able to provide information on the suspect can contact HCSO at (804)-365-6140 or the Metro Richmond Crime Stoppers at (804) 780-1000.

The HSCO has also said that citizens can also download the “P3 Tips” app to submit a tip. Both Crime Stoppers methods are anonymous.
